Wyndham Rose Hall We were somewhat disappointed after our initial arrival. The room seemed a little more run down than we expected. Basically, it was showing its age and could use some renovation. For example, one light fixture seemed to have a short in the plug. And the bathroom had areas of rust and mildew looking spots. But as we spent more time there, the resort really grew on us. The rooms were really the only areas that seemed to be in need of any work. The pool was nice and the added water park (two slides and a small "river" to float on a tube through) was a nice occasional distraction. There were also readily available sail boats and kayaks available for free use and snorkeling, scuba, and parasailing were available for additional costs. You could also ride waverunners, but that was offsite about 15 minutes away. The golf course was very nice. The fairways were in excellent condition...the greens were in average conditions. The beach was small...with only a few feet of sand, but it wasn't bad because the resort wasn't over crowded. The wyndham also had various activities and events occurring throughout the day, which was nice for people who want more than to just lay in the sun. My final comment is that things are very expensive in Jamaica....(e.g., $5.40 for a USA Today newspaper and $11 for a jar of salsa from the gift shop) so it was nice to have the all-inclusive deal so I didn't have sticker shock at the meal prices every day. Other than the one trip to go ride the wave-runners, we didn't leave the resort. So I can't speak to the many other tours the left frequently from the resort. We had plenty to do without going offsite...but others that I overheard talking about them seemed to have fun. Overall, we really liked the resort (after getting
over the initial impression) and had a wonderful time. |
