Just a quick note to say that our honeymoon to Fiji went extremely well. We were impressed by the very good organization of Rosie Travel service. All transportation was perfect. We loved our bure at the Fiji Resort but were a  bit disappointed with the lack of a view at the 2nd Fiji Resort, even though the resort itself is fantastic. We tried to change to an oceanview bure but they were all booked. You might know that the cyclone that hit there last December caused them to lose half of their beach, so the photos are a little deceptive. Everything else went great. Thank you.

Just wanted to say thank you again for planning the perfect trip for us. Reality has really sunk in today since we are both back to work!!

Hawaii was perfect in every way! The weather was amazing, the concert was indescribable, the hotel was perfect (we loved the morning entertainment), and the food and drinks were wonderful. So wonderful that we had my entire family and all our friends watching us via webcam from Lu Lu's after many a Mai-Tai, actually bringing tears to my grandmom's eyes whom I havent seen since our wedding. She had us kissing for the camera while everyone at the bar thought we were nuts, waving at the back wall and all.

And then there was Fiji. I dont think I have any words to describe how we felt at the Fiji resort but if I had to pick one, complete and utter comfort would be best. From the moment we were picked up in Taveuni to the moment we were dropped back off, we felt as if we spent years at the Fiji resort before. Teri's favorite story about the staff is when we first arrived, everyone knew her as Theresa. I think she mentioned to Ana that she goes by Teri and literally 5 or 10 minutes later everyone knew her as Teri! Amazing. I am not sure whose doing it was, but every night they brought us a cheese plate along with two complimentary drinks to our villa just before dinner. They even started bringing us Mai-Tai's since that was what we were always drinking. And speaking of Mai-Tai's, we fell in love with William. Not only was he the nicest person I have ever met, he makes a mean drink! So much so that I regret to say we didnt get on many of the hikes/tours. We enjoyed laying out by our villa drinking William-Mai-Tai's all day! We did plenty of snorkeling though....incredible! Richard was wonderful! I could include so much more here but we are currently preparing our long & praising review, so no need to double work. I just want to thank you for suggesting the Fiji resort as we met so many couples we will be in touch with for years to come and had the time of our lives!

We had a fine time in Belize.  We enjoyed both places we stayed. Both were comfortable and lovely places to stay. Probably 2 of the best in Belize. Our flights went smoothly and we were pleased that the plane on our way home from Houston to San Francisco had the comfortable seats in First class that recline and have lifts for the legs.

We had just enough time in both parts of Belize; 5 days of inland experience in the jungle and 7 days of ocean & beach on Ambergris Caye. The a la carte at both places worked for us (no meal plan and no excursions up front).  Although when we were staying at Chaa we did some excursions on our own that we enjoyed. (cave tubing & Mayan ruins). The land at Chaa, 340 acres was beautiful.  We hiked and biked and enjoyed the canoeing and butterfly farm.  Also, we were pleasantly surprised to find out our trip did include a visit to the Belize zoo on our way from Chaa Creek to Belize City, before our flight to Ambergris Caye. It's a wonderful zoo and we made friends w/ a baby leopard. ( We love cats)! Ambergris Caye was lovely and the stretch of white sandy beach was gorgeaus. The little town of San Pedro on Ambergris was cute and more bustling than we expected.  We had a lot of fun riding in the golf cart to get around. We also used the bicycles and enjoyed getting some exercise.  There are lots of good restaraunts in San Pedro too.

Two weeks away was perfect.  Thank you to Julie for planning another fun vacation for us. We celebrate 20 years of Marriage in August. Feb. 1988 we went to Tahiti & love it (how can you not!).  I think it's time we return.  We'll let you know when.

My husband, kids, and I had a wonderful time in Hawaii.  I have your cards saved for people.  My husband and two sons went snorkeling in the ocean and they said this was their favorite.  Julie set us up with some great activities.  My daughter and I loved the whale watching, we must have seen at least 20 whales and they were very active.  We loved going to Front Street at night, we ate at Bubba Gumps 3 times.  We also loved the beach off Kaanapali Parkway and the kids and my husband jumped off the black rocks.  We loved all of the rainbows, the ocean, the beaches, and restaurants. 

You all did a great job with our trip and we are definitely going back.

What a treat it was for my husband & me to visit Fiji.  I had a preconceived notion of what to expect of our trip.  I was wrong!  You wanted to know our favorite experience - well, it was the people of Fiji - what a joy to spend time with them.  My husband & I always felt like we were part of their extended family.  Here's a testimony for you - after we have visited a place (and my husband & I are well traveled) we kind of feel "been there, done that; where are we going next"? Well, we would love to visit Fiji again.  It was a delight because of the people. 

Highlights: 
Fiji Resort #1 for its snorkeling & having the very private bures - very conducive to "couple time." 
Fiji Resort #2 was our favorite because the staff made it so.  I loved running around barefoot & thought the snorkeling here was also very good.  The Round the Island Tour was a highlight for us.  Percy was a personal favorite staff person there.  The land transfers & connections went smoothly.  We appreciated hearing that Lori called each resort we were visiting to check on us & make sure all was well. 
Fiji Resort #3 had especially delicious fresh fruit & seafood.  We also needed a nurse to obtain some antibiotics because one of us became ill.  We were happy there was a resident nurse at a nearby Fiji Resort, easily accessible from our resort. 

On another note - I read that you have (coming soon) a resident African Specialist.  That is my personal dream trip - something to accomplish before I get too old, or my husband runs out of money!   Please keep us informed on all the particulars of Africa, Melissa.  I want to be sitting in my rocking chair, telling my daughter about the trip her dad & I took to Africa & that she should start saving her money now because it is a trip not to be missed.  Would love to meet you some day, Melissa.  If you are ever in Denver, you better look us up!  Vinaka!

Asking us what our single favorite part of the Fiji Resort was is difficult to answer; there were so many things.  First of all, we greatly appreciated the help of Robin during the process.  She asked many questions to glean from us what our expectations/desires were.  I felt that she was being entirely honest and forthright, and for that we're grateful.  Kudos to you and your staff.

As for the Fiji resort, it is one of the rare few places that I can say was exactly like the pictures.  It exceeded our expectations in every way.  We loved getting to know the staff; we have several pictures with them.  With the size of the resort we were able to learn their names and they learned ours.  The bures (we had a deluxe beachfront) were wonderful; being from Wyoming in the United States, we especially enjoyed the opportunity to shower outside!  We even purchased the oil they burned in the bure so we could take a bit of it home with us.  From the accomodations to the outstanding service to the food, my wife and I have only positive things to report.  Again, credit goes to Robin and the staff there at McCoy Custom Travel.  We even had Ron give us his cell phone number to use while there just in case anything was not to our liking.  We could have never picked such a nice place without your help.  Visiting the other islands in the area only made us happier that we chose this Fiji Resort; it is second to none. We also enjoyed the service at the airport with Rosie's.  All the transfers were enjoyable and nice to experience.  I especially loved the opportunity to use the lounge at the Nadi airport; very relaxing and a nice change to my typical airport experience. 

There is nothing but positive to say about McCoy Custom Travel, Rosie's and the Fiji Resort.  But if you ask me to pick ONE thing that we like the best, I believe it would have to be the resort staff.  They were so solicitous of our every need; we felt like they really did care how our day went.  One day, my wife didn't feel so well.  At dinner, they accommodated her request for a fruit platter without question or complaint.  And for the next 2 days, almost every body we met asked her how she was doing.  That was very impressive to both of us.  We really felt a part of the resort even though we only stayed 1 week. 

We would most definitely use McCoy Custom Travel again, Melissa.  It was a truly magical honeymoon experience.  We're proud and happy to say we chose Fiji.

Thanks for the e-mail.  Beth and I had a fabulous time on Maui for our honeymoon.  Our first trip to Maui, we prefer the Kaanapali area and condo setting for any return trip(s).  For the honeymoon, Julie could not have planned a better itinerary for us and provided great information and service all around!!

We spent our first 5 days in Kaanapali and loved it.  My brother and his wife spent their honeymoon there a few years ago, so we had to try it.  The condo was beautiful and really provided the best setting for the first part of our honeymoon following all the busyness of the wedding, etc.  While there, Julie planned an evening at the Lahaina Luau, a whale watching tour, and a Molokini snorkel tour.  All were great experiences, although we won't be scheduling a whale watch on any return trip during that time of year.  It was really unnecessary as we saw whales all over during the other activities.  But no fault to Julie in that regard as the whale watch was a must for my wife as seeing whales was her #1 wish for our trip's activities!! :) 

Friday (3/21) was our transition day.  We took full advantage of the 11:00 check out time at the Ali'i and then packed our Jeep for the road trip to Wailea.  We decided to venture up Haleakala Crater at that time which became a great transition activity.

When we arrived at the Wailea Resort, we were instantly amazed at the change in scenery and taken aback at the service provided and what we had to look forward to over the next five days.  Although smaller than the Kaanapali Condo and a completely different look and feel, the suite was amazing and we really appreciated the gift basket sent by Julie!!  While in Wailea we REALLY relaxed and shopped for the most part while around the hotel.  Julie did plan one activity for us there ... a sunset cruise one evening.  It was a great experience, of course.  The whales were really active during that time of day and we saw a mom an baby whale breaching side-by-side for a while ... amazing!! 

On our last full day on the island, we took full advantage of the 12:00 check out time and even had a little time to relax at the pool.  After checking out and loading the Jeep, we headed for our last activity at the Wailea Spa ... the cocoon water tour for couples which was amazing (and amazingly expensive ;) and a great way to end our trip before heading to the airport.  Julie did the research on this activity and Beth and I were of course pleased with it! :)

Anyway, I probably shared more information than desired here but we had an amazing honeymoon and have Julie to thank for planning it.  C. & C. Brown (of Houston) referred us to McCoy Travel.  They went to Tahiti/Bora Bora for their honeymoon.  We considered that destination but were really pleased with Maui as our choice and having a couple extra days there.  To reiterate, Julie was amazing throughout the planning process and we couldn't be happier with our overall experience with McCoy Travel and will certainly recommend both to our friends and family.

We had a wonderful trip to Australia.  You did a great job of organizing the trip, and everything worked on schedule. And what a schedule - we did the whole country in three weeks!

We particularly enjoyed the Ayers Rock/Kings Canyon/Alice Springs area.  It has awesome beauty that spans far beyond any photograph.  Close seconds were Kakadu and Kangaroo Island. The people in Australia are happy friendly folks, and we really enjoyed interacting with them.

We celebrated Betty's 60th birthday in Darwin.  So this trip was extra special.

Thanks for your interest. We had a fabulous time in Kauai.  Our condo was beautiful and comfortable. Everyone was very nice.  Loved the pool and the bar and oceanfront location.  We had no problems with any of the arrangements.  
We all enjoyed our boat trip with Blue Dolphin company. That was my favorite.  The crew was great; very hospitable and friendly.  My kids loved the Mountain Tubing trip with Kauai Backcountry adventures.  I loved it too.  
 
We will remember it always and will whole heartedly recommend your company to all.  I look forward to our next trip!  PS  I (we) also loved the Smith family Luau.  Great fun.

I wanted to thank you for all your work on what proved to be a fantastic Maui vacation!   Thanks too for the welcome basket and for our birthday treats.  What nice surprises!

We had wonderful time, and the Maui Resort was as elegant and welcoming as always. There is a yoga teacher there with whom I did classes daily, and they have improved the workout facilities quite a bit as well.  The first week was quiet and lovely, and the second week a bit more hectic with the arrival of the Spring break families.

We celebrated J.'s birthday at Mama's and mine at Gerard's - both awesome meals and evenings.  Lots of beach time, whale watching and snorkeling of course.

The travel was as easy as I ever could have imagined with no glitches anywhere! 

And, I've started to study Hawaiian! 

These wonderful times in Maui make me want to come back soon, so maybe we'll be in touch again!

Everything was great, but I’d say our single favorite experience was the service.  All of the people were friendly, knew our names and took care of everything for us.  The other thing was the overwater bungalow.  The beach bure’s were nice, but the overwater bungalow was extremely special.  The Fiji resort was a very quality place and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone as a honeymoon or just a relaxing vacation.  Sue was also fantastic in helping us get set up so we didn’t have anything to worry about....and we didn’t worry.

My trip to Maui was fantastic, thanks to Sue, who I have been meaning to email..  The Maui resort was so great... 2xs upgrade from what I booked, then I upgraded myself again and got the corner wrap around deluxe ocean view suite which was the best ever.  (the villa's are to die for, but this was fantastic !!!! ) thank you to Sue for the chocolate strawberries and a great time on Maui.  Here's lookiing to my 50th !

We just wanted to thank you for helping to make our honeymoon a trip to remember. We travel a great deal, but we don't usually do luxury the way your package provided. It was perfect for us to celebrate the beginning of our lives together. The accommodations, transportation and overall arrangements worked out great for us. Hiapo, you were EXTREMELY patient with us and really catered to our needs. It is SINCERELY appreciated. 

We attended a very helpful breakfast on our first morning in order to plan out our week (since we'd been too overwhelmed to do it prior to arrival). We didn't have to think about a thing and were able to enjoy every minute. The hotel staff at the Maui Resort were very accommodating. It made Maui even more magical. The whale sightings from every spot on the island were unbelievable and made us smile every time. 

We have planned a number of trips ourselves to locations all around the world...but this one was too special for us to wing it---You helped to make our honeymoon the most special vacation we've ever taken. It was spectacular and we wanted to thank you for everything. Hiapo was one of the nicest and most genuine people we've had the privilege of working with. Thank you again.

Bula, Mimi -- Thank you again for arranging our 40th wedding anniversary trip to Fiji.   We did not let Cyclone Gene dampen our spirits.  All in all, we had a wonderful time. 

We had a great time at this Fiji Resort till the cyclone hit.  They have a new dining room manager, Rups, and the service was excellent (not the long waits for food that have been reviewed on Trip Advisor of late).  The resort is very well maintained, and the bure was immaculately cleaned and very comfortable.  Can you believe that after 40 years of Craig trying to get me in the water to snorkel, it was Roni, one of the boatshed boys, who patiently spent a lot of time with me (2 days' worth) and taught me to snorkel.  He even had me snorkeling from the boat!  (Now I have a newfound underwater world to explore when we visit Hawaii for my birthday in May this year.  I'm really excited.)  We spent many hours in the hammock and loved it so much that we actually brought one home with us.  We met wonderful friends while we were there among both staff and guests. 

The staff was wonderful, but we have to say the highlight of our stay was the food.  They had a consulting chef there, and he made sure that he visited with the guests at every meal to insure their satisfaction.  We have to say he prepared some of the best meals we have ever had.  Because of the storm, the staff was working very hard to clean up all the debris left in its wake.  We spent much of the time on our porch just reading and relaxing and enjoying one another's company.  The sea was still pretty choppy and it rained a good part of the time we were there. So we really never got in the water or participated in any activities.  We ordered a lovely custom woodcarving from the "woodcarver" to remember our stay. 

We were greeted by the staff with a "Welcome home!"  The resort had some minor damage from the cyclone.  Chef Shane is a genius when it comes to preparation and presentation of food.  Every meal was a real adventure.  Our bure was SO luxurious, we felt we were truly in paradise.  The staff was exceptional in meeting our every need. Two days before our departure, the Masima Island Bar and the overwater bures reopened, and the pontoon was back in place (so the arrivals and departees didn't have to wade in the water).  The pool was also in tip-top shape.  The staff worked day and night getting the resort back to its pristine condition.  We really enjoyed many hours relaxing and reading on the daybed, as well as the 4:00 p.m. arrival of our filled ice bucket and freshly baked cookies.  We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this Fiji Resort.  We nearly cried when we had to leave.

We also want you to know how much we appreciated the service we received from Rosie's.  Our driver to Port Denarau (Pantu) said to give his regards to Melissa .  He wanted us to tell Melissa to come back soon, as he is running out of Bounty Rum - lol.   We really appreciated Rosie's VIP Lounge at the airport before our departure back to LAX.  I took advantage of a manicure, and Craig had a neck and shoulder massage.

We indeed had a great time in Fiji (when we FINALLY got there).
We finally got to Fiji and this is the kind of resort that we prefer! We loved the bures, the food, the owners (and their long time friends) and all of the staff. We would recommend this resort to adventure travelers, eco travelers especially. They have strived to make this island truly a low impact environmentally friendly resort destination. Joan is quite passionate about it- GO JOAN! We were only able to get one day of diving in (I got the flu and cyclone FUNA came by) but it made us want to come back so we can do more next time. We have talked to them since the last cyclone but they did not fare as well. They had 100 year old trees come down so I don't know their status as of late. We hope the best for them. We would DEFINITELY return to their resort- A+

After leaving, we flew from Savu Savu to Suva. That was the most beautiful flight I think I have ever been on! I would recommend booking that flight for clients if they are changing locales. Stunning! I must say  that all of the local transfers went smoothly. We realize that it is not easy to get from A to B sometimes but everything from taxis, boats etc. went fine. Thanks! We also didn't realize the distances between resorts, islands, etc. We arrived at this Fiji Resort with a warm Fijian welcome and of course immediately fell in love with this resort as well. They also strive to keep this resort eco-friendly. The bures are extremely roomy and very comfortable- you couldn't want anything else! Again, the resort, staff, food were all great. We did two days of diving here (again not enough). But again we would return to this resort as well. I would recommend this place to eco travelers and especially to those who want to REALLY experience the Fijian culture. In the 4 trips that we have now taken in Fiji, this was by far the one that we have gotten the most culture from. They really stress this which is nice. Again, had to hold back the tears leaving.

I HIGHLY recommend doing the white water rafting on the Navua River. We have done WWR in other countries but this river was the most stunning we have done! Let me know if I can further comment- again we had a great trip, we would repeat it over again, Robin was very helpful in booking everything, a big VINAKA!

Sue, once again, was very helpful on setting up our trip.

On Maui, the Mendez Ranch is MUCH better than Ironwood for horseback riding.
Polynesian bus tours is a much better way to see the island and learn, compared to driving.
The Maui Resort was up to par.

All in all our trip went well!

Our trip was great!  Everything was perfect. No complaints.  We would like to do the same kind of trip next year about the same time but in the Wailea/Kihei area on Maui. Availability of tennis courts is important.

Thank you for restoring our faith in travel agents.  We will definitely be back and look forward to being in contact in the future. We are both from NZ and have both traveled a lot O/S but it has been a while since we were back in the Pacific Islands.  I hope the kids love it as much as I did when I was their age.

It has been particularly refreshing to know that my agent has traveled extensively to where we are going and can give an honest and expert opinion (rather than a verbal ramble quoted out of a brochure or off trip advisor), after all,we can all do that !!

This is the note I sent Mark and a few pictures.  McCoy Travel made our trip effortless!  We will most definitely use you again, and hopefully soon!  You asked about ONE moment…you are kidding, right?   Well, I guess my most favorite restaurant was Mama’s Fish House…divine.  As far as our excursions went I really can’t pick, although Lanai was enchanting and so different than the other islands.  We had planned one whale watch, but took four instead.  I am completely enchanted by the islands and will come as often as possible.  Maybe it is the unique history, or maybe the thickness of their spirituality, or possibly just the calming effect the ocean air and sound of the waves lends…whatever their “magic” is I can honestly say I am under the spell.

Dear Mark,

Our trip was just phenomenal!  I can’t thank you enough for the ease in which you made all our arrangements.  Also, thank you for the champagne and photo album (which is now full) upon our arrival.  Maui is a magical place for me and this trip just accentuated that.  We had front row seats at the the luau (thanks to Julie) and our one whale watching excursion turned into four before our trip was finished.  The accommodations were perfect with a spectacular view  which was only enhanced by the daily romping of whales.  I can’t exactly thank you for the weather, but it was just perfect.  Anyway, thanks again and don’t think I haven’t dropped your name a time or two for friends/family wanting to visit the islands…we will too again and there is no other travel agent in my book!  Thanks again.

Sorry for the late reply.  The trip was great.  We stayed at a Rivera Maya Resort   A fabulous resort.  Everything went as planned.

It was an awesome vacation. Hiapo did a great job.  The best experience was the daily lounging on the beach.

I am now interested in another trip in January, 2009.  Very interested in an all inclusive.  I am looking for a good deal----all beaches, sand, snorkeling, food and drinks (of course.)

We are very much open to the destinations (Fiji, Costa Rica, Caribbean, Tahiti, other.)

We really lucked out on our trip to Fiji.  We had left a lot of our short trip to chance and things went really smoothly.  We managed to get to this Fiji Resort the same day and we had 2 days of diving.  We did just miss a storm that skirted past the islands, which turned the water up a bit – water visibility was a short 20-50 feet.  However, the island was very relaxing.  It is the first time we have stayed in such a place, sterile from the area around it.  It was a bit odd for us – we chose to eat with Jayne and Clint and the other guests at the group table – we enjoy spending time with other people.  Contrary to B&B’s we’ve stayed at in the US, Jayne and Clint sat with us and had all the servers work diligently around us; like a Georgian mansion; that took getting used to.  The Fijian’s are extremely friendly and fun to get to know.  I had a massage from Filo.  Joe the boat master tried a professional bravado, but melted at the idea of a photo with him and the dive master.  The dive master was so very kind when I unlaced the BC strap from the tank to transfer the BC to the other tank – we had a bit of trouble trying to figure out how to get it to go back.  After we figured it out, he was very kind to all my apologies at having caused such trouble.  We did have a 2 hour delay on the flight back to Australia, but better that direction.

Anyway, we had a wonderful time.  It was very relaxing, albeit very sheltered from the actual Fijian culture.  If it is ok, we would love to keep you in our list of people to call for other trips that we might do in your areas of expertise – the Fijian and Hawaiian islands, I presume.  Thanks again!

Fabulous Fiji Getaway

We're back home and i'm trying to keep the memories of Maui alive!  I was just looking through our photos again, what a wonderful time we had.  We tried to find you at the resort but didn't have any luck.  The day after our wedding we went to the Heavenly Spa for massages.  It was soooo nice.  I'm sorry we didn't get to meet in person.  I just wanted to thank you again for setting us up with a great vacation.  We were just so happy with the hotel you recommended.  Here's a photo of us.  We can't wait to come back!

Want to thank you for a fabulous trip to Fiji.  You were worried we wouldn't like this Fiji Resort much, but let me tell you it was probably the best vacation week of our 60 year lives.  We landed in Fiji and were picked up right on time by a wonderful young man who drove us to Paradise over the worst road.  When we finally got to Paradise, we were welcomed by the most wonderful people. We were escorted to our bure and were rewarded with a complimentary foot massage. From there it only gets better.  It turned out, we were the only guests at the resort for the first 3 days.  When other guests arrived our treatment never changed, everyone from the owners, Terry and Alan, to the Fijians that were tending to the grounds were so nice and genuine.  The  diving was fantastic, the food was outstanding, and the service was  unreal.  We did trips to the local village, waterfalls and took part in the weekly traditional feast. I was made Chief, drank a lot of Kava, and danced the evening away. When  we left we felt we were leaving family behind.
